Anouk's Bedroom Update

Hello dear blogfriends,

It's Monday again. I hope you had a nice and happy WE.
We had a lot of snow and had to stay cozy at home.

Last week I tried the tree project in Anouk's bedroom.

It was easy and fast project, completed in three hours.

I'm totally pleased with it! It completely transforms the room while being very quite at the same time.

I purchased those adorable cushions in sale at Zara Home.
I knew Anouk would love them since they remind me of Richard Scarry's little characters.

The room looks very big in that pic, but it is actually tiny.

We used the same curtains as in the living room. It creates an easy flow in the house. I still have a pair of them and I am decided to put them in our bedroom too.

There is still so many things to do. Like buying a rug, installing the light fixture and... other projects I'll speak about soon!

Copy Cat Bedroom?

Do I finally have a direction for my bedroom?
(remember the weird color I picked for it?)

Am I going to Copy Cat this very cooooool bedroom by Emily Henderson?

I am very tempted!

I'm not sure sleeping next to a cactus is really Feng Shui, but the room is so coool.

It is pretty much the color of my room (kind of very dark and saturated teal). And I love that tropical green. Remember I said that green was going to be very trendy this year?

I directly though about the Aquatic collection of Mademoiselle Dimanche for the textiles.

But I still have two sets of Emmie Curtains and they where looking very good... So I am thinking about using them eventually (the white curtains are really NOT looking good).

(Gosh this picture is really not doing anything for them!!)

And the patterns would Not work together...

So, instead of patterns, I could you for the cushions, a mix of those cushions from Zara Home and white plain cushions:

What do you think? The first option is better right?

Zara Home : Small Selection

Hello!

Last week, I went to Zara Home to check this lamp (spotted here and here) :

Unfortunately, this lamp is way to big for our desk! However, I loved the entire collection, even better in person than on the website.
You know I love Zara Home accessories (check here ). And I would like to buy so accessories to style our desk.

To store pens, I thought about buying one of the cups from the bathroom collection :

And, as always, their boxes are very nice. Those are my favorite. The picture is not doing any favor to the tortoise box, but it is really cute.

Of course, their bed linen collection is amazing, but for the bedroom, I especially love this rug :

Color Week : Different colors / Different stylings

While I like weird color combos in picture, I usually prefer to play it safe with color in my own house. Especially because I love to change all the time.

You don't have to paint your walls in yellow to add some color in your house. Some accessories can add color to a neutral room and make a huge impact. They can easily be swiched if you want to create a new styling.

Last week, Jannice demonstrated it very nicely here. She styled her neutral living room in three different ways, using three different colors :

Soft grey...

blue...

and beige...

Very nicely done Jannice!

Here is my selection to style your house in the color palette I proposed yesterday :

1. Very lovely lamp (already spotted here)  - Zara Home
2. Plaid - Zara Home
3, 4 & 10. Cushions - Zara Home
5. Jar - Muuto
6. Knitted basket - Ferm Living
7. Vase - Ikea
8. Caddles - Ikea
9. Candle holder - Muuto

Small Storage for Little Hands

Like most of the toddlers, Anouk is relentlessly attracted to phones and commands. So, to keep them out of her reach and to clean a bit the coffee table, I bought this very nice bones box from Zara Home. Very handfull.

Then as my little peanut gest more and more toys, I also bought this very nice basket. It is the perfect shape and size and she loves it!

Nice Work Spaces

Our worspace is quite unfinished yet...

Yes : the bare and unstyled truth...

We managed to hide the printer in our TV-books-media solution.

I am also very glad that we found at Habitat a very nice office chair that met my easthetic criterias and my boyfriend's practical criterias.

However, we still haven't find the right office table. I was for a long time looking for scandinavian vintage desks like the one below.

We had some nice occasions on ebay, but eventually I think this would be too massive to be put in the corner of the living room, next to the very massive library.

I think I'd rather go for those good bones tables.

And maybe later add some drawers like these...

I found some good bones side tables on ebay, that could be painted :

But it's always the same story with ebay. You have to go get them, take them over in your car, etc...

And guess what???

Ikea makes this cuttie for about the same price... (Plus : my boyfriend likes it!)

NO. I am not sponsored by Ikea.... and I trully think I shouldn't have any more ikea piece in my living room. But...

And wouldn't it be very cute with this glam table lamp form Zara Home?

I don't know. I think I could be happy with that. And it would create a more formal and stylish nook in our interior.
What's your opinion?
