Nordic Christmas Trees

Hi,

Have you decorated your Christmas tree yet?

Here in Belgium, we celebrate Saint Nicholas on December 6. Children receive fruits, candy's and presents.

So usually, we start Christmas decorations after Saint Nicholas...

I has been a time I haven't got a Christmas tree at my house, so this year, I am very exited about it. I am just twisted between quirky, traditional or Nordic Christmas trees. Would you help me to choose?

Today I am sharing some inspiration for Nordic Christmas decor.

Usually they are : poetic, simple, earthy, white, with candle lights, natural, and mostly crafty.

Bedroom with Dark Accent Wall

Hi,

Today I'm sharing more inspiring pics for the bedroom.

How good do these white headboards look with the black accent wall?

The first room is just perfect : sophisticated but quite, light and airy yet cozy.
I love it.

And I love those scones. Do you think any quirky sconces spray painted brass would work?

And this Dwell Studio bedding is just calling me...

This one is nice too, maybe girlier. But the pillows are so pretty.

Inspiring Rooms

 Hi people,

I hope you had a nice Monday.

Last weeks, have been full of inspiration, colors, sun.
I have been dreaming about decorating my house with bright, saturated colors, interesting color combos, etc.

While this process is nice and very creative, it is nice also to look back to interiors that always have caught your eyes and which trully define your style.

Here are three lovely interiors that I trully love and I can say this is completely my style.

The first interior is a Mahattan Atelier that was featured last month in Lonny Mag.

I am in love with the vintage chairs, the pink sofa, the moulding, the art.

I love that they didn't "respect" the moulding to hang the art. I think it gives a Parisian vibe.

The second interior is the loft of the photographer  Jeremy Harwell.

Yes, another pink sofa.
Yest, owned by a dude.

Again, I love the art.

The last interior is a pad, designed by Elizabeth Sullivan.

Lovely isn't?
Totally tastefull, yet very simple and achievable.

So yes, I still love the more "tropical" styles featured lately in the blog, but let's face it :
I live in a country where it rains most of the days and where summer last for just two weeks.

So, I guess I should get sticked to the palette I love and know...

Palm Spring Spirit : Slim Aarons Photographs

Hi,

Ok, last Palm Spring's spirit post and then we will be seriously starting with the holydays season and (hopefully) some progress reveal pictures of the house.

So today, I am sharing pictures of the photographer Slim Aarons that pictured the Palm Spring jet set from 1950 to 1980.

I love the vintage aesthetic of it and the architecture of the house featured in the first photograph.

The landschapes make me also think of the landschape in the South of La Paz, Bolivia, where I lived for one year. I miss that place a lot.

You can purchase the pictures at Yellow Korner.

Patrick Townsend Orbit Chandelier

Hello!

I guess I have a thing for light fixtures...
After mushroom lamps, the Tom Dixon's copper pendant, the sputnik light, the geometric chandeliers and the vintage spray painted chandeliers, my new crush is the Patrick Townsend Orbit Chandelier, that I first spotted in Victoria Smith's house (the girl behing Sfg by Bay) :

Pretty right?

I like it because it's modern, feminine, light and casual at the same time.
Pretty much my style!

I think it would be nice above the dinning table, then I could use the vintage geometric chandelier in our bedroom (because, I think I prefer that option eventually).

But price tag? 600$!

Still very lovable though...

Venice Beach : Californication House

Californication is the coolest TV show.
Not only because David Duchovny (Hank Moody) is damn sexy, but also because it is registered in the coolest LA neighbourhood (Venice), and because it features very exiting decors.

Karen's house is the amazing Mc Kinley house, residence of its architect David Hertz, which is a very good example of the LA architecture.

I don't like the wood finish above, it's much better painted in light green as below, and with Hank, obvi.

But I think I really prefer the casual and mid-century cooooooool style of Hank's house.
I love the danish chairs and bookshelves.

I love the vintage canne chairs.

About you, do you look at the decors in the TV shows? Do you have favorites ones?
I have plenty of very nice movies and TV shows interiors, other posts are coming soon.

I wrote already about Sex and the City and Gossip Girl here and here.
