Dude Design Week : Orlando Soria's Apartment

Dear blogfriends!

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's sunny weather!

This week I'd like to be more present on the blog and I though about a thematic week to get back on tracks.

I'm getting a bit tired of pastel shades, pinks and girly stuffs, so I'll be dedicating this week to dude design.

So let's start with Orlando Soria's very cool pad.

Orlando is a painter and works with Emily Henderson as principle designer. Emily is my favorite designer and collaborates with awesome talented people (like Bethany Nauert).

I love the blue-grey color palette and the mid-century vibes of this apartment.

I'll write a post on dude design's elements this week. For the moment, I just want to set the mood.

 I want to trough everything that's in my house and call this people to run my life and decorate my house with exiting and unique vintage pieces and bold colors.  

I discovered Bethany Nauert on Emily Henderson's blog, but she is a contributor of Apartment Therapy and she shot most of my favorite interiors featured on Apartment Therapy.

She photographed the loft designed by Natalie Younger I featured last week.

Besides, she works for Rue Mag... (which is the nirvana for home decor)

Pops of Colors for Spring : Yellow and Pink

Dear blogfriends,

How are you? I'm feeling we must put an end to winter right now.

I want to update our living room with some fresh pops of colors and I was thinking about yellows and pinks and take the aboriginal art as a starting point.

Copy Cat Bedroom?

Do I finally have a direction for my bedroom? 

(remember the weird color I picked for it?)

Am I going to Copy Cat this very cooooool bedroom by Emily Henderson?

I am very tempted!

I'm not sure sleeping next to a cactus is really Feng Shui, but the room is so coool.

It is pretty much the color of my room (kind of very dark and saturated teal). And I love that tropical green. Remember I said that green was going to be very trendy this year?

I directly though about the Aquatic collection of Mademoiselle Dimanche for the textiles.

But I still have two sets of Emmie Curtains and they where looking very good... So I am thinking about using them eventually (the white curtains are really NOT looking good).

So, instead of patterns, I could you for the cushions, a mix of those cushions from Zara Home and white plain cushions:

Mushroom Lamps!

Look at the pretty pretty lamp Jenny bought for her girls lately!

Mushroom lamps are such a design classic. I think it's a very easy and cheap way to add quirk, uniqueness and vintage style to a room.

I spotted some very pretty mushroom lamps in some of my favorite stylists/bloggers.

Living Room : New Couch and Curtains

Tadam!!

Ok, we copied pretty much the Ikea look below. But Karlstad is a really good deal and very comfy. I liked the blue-grey color.

The white curtains still need to be shortened. The blue curtains are not really my style but I like them together with the blue-gray couch, plus my boyfriend agreed immediately (which never happened!).

The color palette also reminds me of this beautifull room from Emily Henderson. When I showed it to my boyfriend he liked it (usually he never likes), so I though I could go this direction... Eventhough this is a bit too "victorian" for my (too much flowers).

But I have to say, since I follow Emily's blog, I am more and more into blue-grey-green palettes.
