Anouk's 3 years old bedroom

Hello!

It has been such a long time here.

I started a new blog on parenting, education and decoration.
However, I tought it would be nice to share here some pictures of new projects.

Here is an update of Anouk's bedroom.

She is now three. So she got a toddler, has a nice reading nook, a small desk and a special space where she can hang her art work.

 Lovely isn't?

Paper Lanterns in Anouk's Bedroom

Dear blogfriends,

I love decorating the nursery, because it seems that every project can be completed in a very small time!
This one is a record breaker. It just took 10 minutes!

The ceiling in Anouk's bedroom are very high and since there is no big furniture, there was an echo!

So I hung these paper lanterens from Fly (I think it was 3 EUR/pc). It absorbs the noise perfectly!

Edit : If you'd like to read Joanna Goddard posted on her blog an interview of the animal photographer Sharon Montrose (who shoot the cute animal pics above anouk's crib).

Best Wallpapers Ever for a Nursery

Dear blogfriends,

I hope you had a very nice WE! It's Monday again and I have many things to tell you.

This WE has been busy and productive and we are finally seeing the end of the closet-tunnel.

In the meanwhile, here are some awesome wallpapers for kids rooms.

For unknow reason, they put glass fiber in my house (ceilings included!), so I can't have wallpaper.

It's really a pitty since there are amazing and creative options for wallpapers, especially for kids.

So here is my selection :

1. Wallpaper from minakani lab

2. A classic from Graham and Brown :

3. Birds wallpaper from Hygge and West.

3. I'm pretty sure this is an old collection from Dwell Studio
(Their new collection are amazing too).

4. Car wallpaper from Ferm Living
(The all collection is eyecandy too)

Anouk's Bedroom Update

Hello dear blogfriends,

It's Monday again. I hope you had a nice and happy WE.
We had a lot of snow and had to stay cozy at home.

Last week I tried the tree project in Anouk's bedroom.

It was easy and fast project, completed in three hours.

I'm totally pleased with it! It completely transforms the room while being very quite at the same time.

I purchased those adorable cushions in sale at Zara Home.
I knew Anouk would love them since they remind me of Richard Scarry's little characters.

The room looks very big in that pic, but it is actually tiny.

We used the same curtains as in the living room. It creates an easy flow in the house. I still have a pair of them and I am decided to put them in our bedroom too.

There is still so many things to do. Like buying a rug, installing the light fixture and... other projects I'll speak about soon!

Small Nursery Progress

Dear blogfriends,

Yesterday has been a very productive day.

Two weeks ago, the dishwasher broke down. So yesterday, we had to stay at home to wait for the technician (yes, two weeks later...).

I took advantage of this extra day off to work on Anouk's nursery.

I don't have before picture because it is too embarrasing.
The room (12 m²) was hosting my two dressers and lots of clutter.
Last WE I was able to get rid of one of the dresser. Which was already a big improvement.

The goal now is to get rid of the second dresser.

(soo sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. Those are iphone pic with very bad day light... Maybe this WE I'll try to take better pics)

So, yesterday, I sorted my clothes (throw away, give away, keep, summer clothes and maternity clothes). And this is what went to the basement :

Not bad.

Then (with the help of my man), we finally installed the curtain rod...

(curtains were previously hold with tape)

With the new curtains :
Yes, I know there is a problem : the rod is too small. We'll fix that!

And I framed the Sharon Montrose's Little darlings...

I can wait to keep on going!

Neon and Pastels by By Bak

Dear blogfriends,

One of the trends I prefered this week was the mix of neon and pastels.
But, while I love to watch trends, I am definitely not an early adopter (I just hung a Keep Calm poster in my office (but now it's vintage anyway so it's ok)).

However, the girl behind the danish blog By Bak ran totaly in the trend and I love it!

Here are a few pictures of her interior :

I love the neon quilt mixed with the vintage liberty.

Pretty prints and arts :

And the nursery is beyond pretty!

The result is playfull and sophisticated.

I love the chevron wall, the light fixture, the pink Dorothy Draper dresser, the soft shades, the modern loundge chair...

Another Pretty and Simple Nursery

Hello!

You know I love simple nurseries. I think childrens don't have to be overwhelmed by furniture and decor items.

Simple pieces of furniture, nice art, and plenty of space to play : this is all they need.

This very pretty nursery found on Apartment Therapy here is a good example.
