Trees in Nursery?

Dear blogfriends,
How are you today? I'am so glad it's friday! This week has been very busy at work and I'd love some rest this WE.
Tomorrow, I'd also like to work further on the nursery (and be able to take decent pictures!).

However, I am facing a dilemna :
You probably noticed that trees are very popular in nurseries right now. I'm not sure I like this trend. I think it can been very cheesy. Some are very lovely (like on the pic below)... but not really my style...

I like graphic accent wall better... Like this :

I think it has more "energy". If you want awesome examples for nurseries, check here and here.

But there is a problem. The first idea was to hang the Little Darlings above the dresser facing the entrance.

Then the graphic wall was supposed to be the wall behind the crib...

The problem is that the wall facing the door is very hard and I would need to drill in order to hang the frames. I don't really feel like drilling since the configuration of the room might change a lot in the future with (maybe) a second baby...

So the new idea is to hang the frames above the bed. This would work perfect!

However, the wall facing the door is then very bare. I really don't think it would work as accent wall and I don't feel like painting the all room. I love this room to be bright and crisp.

So, although I am not crazy about the tree trend, I am considering painting a very simple tree in a soft grey shade in the corner. Just like this one below (but without the birds).

Maybe I like the model bellow better...

What do you think? I'd love to have your opinion!

Small Nursery Progress

Dear blogfriends,

Yesterday has been a very productive day.

Two weeks ago, the dishwasher broke down. So yesterday, we had to stay at home to wait for the technician (yes, two weeks later...).

I took advantage of this extra day off to work on Anouk's nursery.

I don't have before picture because it is too embarrasing.
The room (12 m²) was hosting my two dressers and lots of clutter.
Last WE I was able to get rid of one of the dresser. Which was already a big improvement.

The goal now is to get rid of the second dresser.

(soo sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. Those are iphone pic with very bad day light... Maybe this WE I'll try to take better pics)

So, yesterday, I sorted my clothes (throw away, give away, keep, summer clothes and maternity clothes). And this is what went to the basement :

Not bad.

Then (with the help of my man), we finally installed the curtain rod...

(curtains were previously hold with tape)

With the new curtains :
Yes, I know there is a problem : the rod is too small. We'll fix that!

And I framed the Sharon Montrose's Little darlings...

I can wait to keep on going!

Very Simple Nursery

Hello!

Last week, Kelle shared pictures of a nursery she designed. I think she did a great job!

She kept it very simple and just kept the essentials : soft and sunny colors, sweet art, a rocking chair and a comfy rug.

I liked the Ikea Ribba shelves she used for the books (adding pops of colors). I loved the cushion on the rocking chair. I adored the kind-of-leopard-print cushion in the bed.

It's actually a great source of inspiration for me since I kind of had the same ideas for Anouk's nursery (that I hope I'll be able to do next month).

We'll be recycling the Ikea Lillberg rocking chair that was in the living room of our old apartment and I already purchased this Ikea fabric :

For the art, my great friend Stefania offered me this print from Sharon Montrose's Animal Print Shop :
Isn't it just to adorable?

I purchased those two guys more to make a trio :

They might hang above the bed or above the rocking chair.

I'll be adding some art I already own (some being illustrations from my sister... I'll post about that later).

For the cushion, I spotted those, from Colette Bream Etsy shop :

Cute isn't?
