Inspiration : Modern Furnishing Meets Traditional Architecture

Dear blogfriends,

I absolutely love the work jessica helgerson. She is the designer behind the amazing house previously shown here.

Today's house is a traditional house in Portland, Oregon, she designed for a family with a very modern aesthetic.

Isn't stunning?

Under the Sput(nik) Lights

Hey!

Late post today! But not the least! Today, I selected a few pics representing one very iconic lighting : the Sputnik pendant!

I really love it! I love design pieces that give a bit of quirk and some vintage vibes to a room.
None of the room pictured below would be half as amazing as they are without the sputnik.

Even that wonderfull pink bedroom!

Ideas for the Dinning Nook (3) : The Bertoia Chair

I am so so glad we (my boyfriend and I) made up our mind for the chair of the dinning nook.

I wanted a modern classic chair.

At first, my choice was the Eames chair.

I still love them, but I think they are a bit too industrial for me and would work better in a kitchen.

Then, I was truly loving this model from Habitat.

Which matches our office chair. I love how the leather warths up our interior. This is glam and cozy. But I think it would be too matchy-matchy (with the office chair) and quite "heavy" (because of the chrome and the leather).

It's not stricto sensu a design classic, but it reminds me those beautifull mid-century rooms.

Some other chairs came in discussion, like the Saarinen tulip chair.

But finally we agreed on...

I love that's unformal yet elegant and that you can play with cushions to make it cozier or lighter. We still have to make our choice for the cushions though...

Apartment therapy just published an article on this modern classic chair.

And you? Do you like modern classics? Which is you favorite? Have you some? I'd like to know...

Favorite Rooms Ever

I don't have very stable tastes and what I like depends very much on the season, how I feel etc...

When I feel overwhelmed, I love decluttered, white, scandinavian interiors ;
When I am feeling depressed, I love color- and paternfull Holywood glam interiors ;
When I get sick of overplayed contemporary minimalistic interiors, I love mid-century classic design...

Sometimes I just want white from floor to ceiling, sometimes I need bold and colorfull accent.

This i why I am always hesitating and regretting my choices.

But, when I look at my pinterest boards, I realize that I have some unvariable favorites :

- light and crisp, not too cluttered, feminine rooms,
- with a pastel-white color palette
- silver-chrome accent
- beautifull materials like cristal, wood and leather
- and slight vintage vibes.

Those are all times favorites :
