WE Pics + First Pics of the Bertoias

Dear blogfriends,

Did you enjoy the WE! Our was wonderful. We headed to the belgian Adernnes and had the best time ever with our relatives.

I didn't take the time yet to shoot proper pictures of the new chairs. But I took a few shoots this morning just to show you.

It is totally unstyled and morning light is not the best light in our living room.

Please don't mind the totally unstyled cut flowers and these unattractive rotten bananas.

Guess What Got Delivered Yesterday??

Dear blogfriends,

I need to share my happyness and joy with you today!

My dear Bertoia chairs, that first were ordered in October, then reordered in March got delivered yesterday!

I couldn't be home so I rescheduled the delivery. However, DPD dropped them at one neighbour.When I saw that on the internet tracking, I ran home on lunch time to welcome them safely home and check the all thing!

This is when I got these pictures taken. Now they have already been assembled and I LOVE the look.
I can't wait to show you pictures.

For the record I bought them at Blue Sun Tree.

They have pretty good prices and nice color choices (I love the hot pink!!!!).

Two chairs have a little shard (but as long as it doesn't get worse it's ok for me) ;
One chair's got a more consequent shard (about 2 cm²) that I'll try to fix with some car body paint ;
and the biggest problem is that one chair's seat is slightly lower than the others.

I might try to get some discount for the lower seat, however in the overall, I am pretty happy.

The chairs were (with the transport) about 80 EUR each, which is about the price of the well-designed range of ikea (but the Stockholm collection chairs are about 149 EUR each).

So I guess the quality is ok for the price.
The delivery delay was longer than expected but similar to what other on-line shops offer.

The cushion however is very good quality, which gives a valuable high-end finish.

Stay tuned this WE for more pictures!!!!!

Ideas for the Dinning Nook (3) : The Bertoia Chair

I am so so glad we (my boyfriend and I) made up our mind for the chair of the dinning nook.

I wanted a modern classic chair.

At first, my choice was the Eames chair.

I still love them, but I think they are a bit too industrial for me and would work better in a kitchen.

Then, I was truly loving this model from Habitat.

Which matches our office chair. I love how the leather warths up our interior. This is glam and cozy. But I think it would be too matchy-matchy (with the office chair) and quite "heavy" (because of the chrome and the leather).

It's not stricto sensu a design classic, but it reminds me those beautifull mid-century rooms.

Some other chairs came in discussion, like the Saarinen tulip chair.

But finally we agreed on...

I love that's unformal yet elegant and that you can play with cushions to make it cozier or lighter. We still have to make our choice for the cushions though...

Apartment therapy just published an article on this modern classic chair.

And you? Do you like modern classics? Which is you favorite? Have you some? I'd like to know...
