House Tour : Very Nice Simple Apartment

Hello,

Today's post will show you you don't have to spend lots of money to create a beautiful personal space : some Ikea's classic storage (expedit, billy), vintage finds, beautiful arts, nice textile patterns (do you recognize Orla Kiely's?)...

Where do you find craspedias? I never find any!

I just can't believe Pamela (the renter) has been there for just FOUR months! Well done!

You can see the entire tour on Apartment Therapy here.

Patterns Week : Patterns Inspiration from Ore Studios

Hello,

Today, I'm sharing pictures form an amazing house design by Ore Studios.

The owner had a huge collection of vintage fabrics (with wonderful patterns).

They used soft colors and white and cream slip covers to magnify the fabrics used for the lamp shades and the cushions.

I love the result!

You can also notice pretty patterns on the porcelaine lamps.

I love this rug.

I love the beautiful details, like the little flowers on the pendant.

Patterns Week : Chevron Isn't Dead Yet

Ok. This may not be the most unexpected post ever.
2011 was a chevron year.
So was 2012.
And still, chevrons won't die in 2013!

I'm not unhappy with that! Chevrons are easy to mix.
Plus, there are plenty of DIY possibilities.

DIY chevron walls :

Very nice for an entry, for example.

Caitlin Wilson shared her tutorial here.

Chevron rugs are my favorites :

You can find the tutorial for the DIY here.
Jenny Komenda who has always the best tutorials made one too here.

Here is the result :

I like the DIY very much, but I prefer most sophisticated ones as this one.

Lamp shades :

For the patterns shy, lamp shades (like cushions) are a very nice possibiliy.

I love the "entrelacs" collection of Mademoiselle Dimanche, a very talentous French designer.

Patterns Week : Mixing Patterns

 Hello!

Today it's the last day before 15 days of pure rest in Thailand.
Life has been a bit crazy last month with lots of unexpected (and not so nice) events.
So it's really a relief to take some days off!

With all these sad events, we haven't been able to progress in the house. I am dying to see the built-ins project done and to share with you the results but we had other priority lately.

Nothing happened either with the gallery wall and the nursery.

Some little changes did happen with the office space, but it's not worth a room reveal yet!

So, I won't be able to share any private project in November, and I very sad about that!

However, I'll try to feed this blog with inspiring pictures and tips.

This week, if you'd like, we'll speak about patterns : how to mix them, what are the trends, how to get inspired....

I hope you'll enjoy it!

I leave you today with very inspiring pictures mixing beautifully patterns (and colors!).
