Scandi Week : Favorite Brands

Hello!

I am a bit late on the schedule, but we'll end the Scandi Week today (monday :-)) with my favorite scandinavian brands (all danish).

Via : Decro8

1. Muuto  : a designer collective that has very nice raw wood furniture.

This basket is very nice and the perfect size for magazines or toys.

2. Ferm Living : a danish design company that has very sweet grafic patterns. I love their grafic wallpapers.

I love this laudry basket. Also nice to store toys.

Their children collection is very pretty.

3. Normann Copenhagen : I love the pastel colors from their last collection

Scandi Week : Swedish Real Estate and Beautiful Scandinavian Interiors

Hello!
If you've ever looked for a flat or a house through real estate, you'd probably be surprised by the very pretty images below, all from the real estate agency Stadshem, based in Stockholm and Göteborg, Sweden.

Stadshem is not specialized in luxury housing (the flat in the pic below is actually 40m²), but selects very pretty houses and polish their styling.

Stadshem is actually one of my first source of inspiration for scandinavian interiors. You'd probably recognise in some pictures Ikea furnitures, String bookshelves and Josef Frank textiles and wallpapers!

I our apartment , the walls are covered by fiberglas, which makes it impossible to put wall paper :-(
The only place there isn't fiberglas is the laundry room... But it's no reason to not put wallpaper afterall!!

You'll notice also lots of scandinavian typical decor elements like raw/natural wood, white painted floor or furnitures, pops of colors and those amazing stoves.

Scandi Week : Josef Frank

Hello,

If you like white interiors with pops of colors and if you like beautiful textiles, you'll love (like I do) Josef Frank design!!

Josef Frank is an austrian architect and designer that run away to Sweden during WWII. Josef Frank is still a great source of inspiration today. Lots of Ikea textiles (among my favorites) are inspired by Josef Frank...

His designs are just so pretty... Just take a look at these inspiration pictures...

If you want more, check the article Apartment Therapy posted a few weeks ago.

Josef Frank textiles and wallpapers are available on the (very pretty) shop Svenskt Tenn.

Scandi Week : I Love String!

Hie,

I'm sorry I've been a bit away this week. Last days have been a bit tough with my baby, my boyfriend an myself being a bit sick :-(

This week I'd like to speak about my northern crushes...

My biggest scandinavian crush is String System. The String shelve is a scandinavian design classic since 1949 (check the catalog here).

I love the simple design and the endless possibilities it offers.

On their wesbsite, String invites consumers to share their creation... I love to see all the different looks you can get with very simple elements!

It works also very well with small spaces :

But I think it looks the best in nurseries! Look at those heartbreaking shelves... I am tottaly smitten.
